Robert Clark's experience includes regulatory, operational, business, & transactional issues pertaining to health care providers and payers.

Robert Clark concentrates his practice primarily on business, corporate, and transactional matters pertaining to health care providers. He has served as outside general counsel for many of his clients, and well understands the client's perspective due to his years of valuable experience as in-house legal counsel for some of the nation's leading health care organizations. Mr. Clark has been on the leading edge of industry developments and has been involved in several of the nation's most significant and highly publicized health care mergers and acquisitions.

Mr. Clark has more than 30 years of experience counseling and representing numerous types of health care organizations and entities with respect to business, corporate, and transactional matters and arrangements in a highly regulated environment, including matters and arrangements involving physician practices, hospitals, and health systems, behavioral health providers, long term care providers, pharmaceutical manufacturers and suppliers, hospice and palliative care providers, home health providers, pharmacies, group purchasing organizations, e-commerce businesses, patient assistance organizations, durable medical equipment suppliers, managed care entities, and other sundry health care providers and vendors. His experience includes counseling and representation on stock and asset acquisitions and sales, mergers and corporate reorganizations, business entity formation and operation, captive professional corporation arrangements, provider networks, and affiliations, joint ventures, consulting and management arrangements, debt and equity financing, employment, and independent contractor relationships, and numerous other business and commercial transactions.

His regulatory experience includes counseling on state and federal laws governing fraud and abuse, self-referral prohibitions, facility and provider licensure and certification, provider and vendor contracting, managed care operations and contracting, HIPAA and privacy, and compliance program development and operations.

During his career, Mr. Clark has served as vice president and general counsel for one of the country's largest providers of hospice care, as well as in-house counsel for both a publicly-traded national operator of long-term care facilities and a behavioral health managed care organization. He has also served as the managing partner of the health law practice of a national law firm. Mr. Clark's clients very much value his experience as in-house legal counsel because of the keen insight it gives him on client expectations and perspectives.
